Scones set sail for Europe

Suddenly everyone wants to take tea like the Queen. Historical TV dramas such as Downton Abbey and The Crown, both widely watched in Europe, have led to a growing interest in British culture and traditions.

Anglophiles and royal family fans who want to get their hands on their own slice of British culture need look no further than the humble scone – and that’s where we come in.

We were delighted to be asked to bake 2 million (120 tonnes!) of scones which will be sent over to Germany, Spain and Poland next week. We used our classic recipe which is packed with juicy sultanas.

Ian Hemingway of our sales team said ‘Exporting to Europe is always very exciting challenge for us. We already have a huge market in France, so are now looking to increase our exports to other countries too and share the joys of scones with as many customers as we can.’

The scones will be available to buy in a well known supermarket chain.
